Mullashev Kamil is one of the outstanding Kazakh artists of Tatar origin, with a bright monumental thought, classical romanticism, national decorativeness, deep understanding of the image of man, society, nature, and the cosmos. He is an academician, the Honoured Art Worker of Kazakhstan since 1996, People’s Artist of Tatarstan since 2003, Laureate of the State Prize named after G. Tukai in 2009 and silver, G. Tukai State Prize in 2009 and silver medal of the Academy of Arts of France, laureate of the State Prize of Kazakhstan in 2016. In 1967 he graduated from Alma-Ata Art School named after N.V. Gogol and Moscow State Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov, in 1978. He participated in all-union and international exhibitions and had diplomas from the Academy of Arts and the Union of Artists of the USSR.
Kamil Mullashev is a leading national artist of the portrait genre. His work has always been characterized by monumental thinking combined with romantic passion, the uninhibited joy of spirit, decorativeness, and a rich palette of colours. A vivid example is the work of the museum collection A Portrait of a Shepherd Albanbaev Nurmaldy.
