Akanaev Amandos is a painter and a member of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

He was born on the collective farm named after I. Michurin in the Alma-Ata region. In 1968 he graduated from the Alma-Ata Art School named after N.V. Gogol, where he studied under M. Kalimov and M. Kisamedinov. He lives and works in Almaty.

Akanaev shows in his work the desire to talk in a specific artistic language, and to reveal his feelings through colour, texture, and rhythm, such as in the painting called Bath.
