Bayanov Gani is a painter, graphic artist, and watercolorist, a member of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
He was born in the village of Korzhynkol, in the Kustanay region. In 1973 he graduated from the Almaty Art School named after N. Gogol, where he studied painting under G. Sapugov. From 1988 to 2005 he taught at the Almaty Art College named after U. Tansykbaev. He defines his artistic world as “twilight”. It is symbolic and multifaceted with space always unfolding with semi-darkness and mystery. Understatement is his favorite method to talk to viewers. This creates a sense of mystery, and enigma, which is naturally followed by a desire to dig into the hidden meaning. A vivid example of this is the artist’s work A Long Evening.
