Schmidt Victor is a painter and a member of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

He was born in Semipalatinsk and graduated from the Semipalatinsk Pedagogical Institute, Faculty of Art and Graphic Arts in 1983.  V. Schmidt worked as a guide at the Regional Museum of Art named after the Nevzorov family, as an artist at the Regional Museum of History and Folklore, and as the chief artist of the Regional Drama Theatre named after F.M. Dostoevsky. Since 1986 he has been participating in collective and individual exhibitions.

A human, his inner world, his choices, pain and hope are the main themes of Victor Schmidt’s work. Colour, composition, line, texture and the use of different materials are essential for the artist. His works are philosophical and retain a figurative and thematic style. However, he also works in the abstract style. Full of philosophical reflections on man and his journey through life, the work from the museum’s collection is called AWagon.
