Classes are conducted by experienced tutors and members of Aesthetic Education Sector. Children of ages 9 to 16 may study there.
The studio’s curriculum is designed for 2 years, but many students resume their studies after finishing the course. During the everyday classes, children come into contact with classical and contemporary art pieces. There is no doubt that such activities positively affect children’s minds and creativity.
The classes are held for junior and senior groups. Smaller groups are more convenient for individual approach. The program targets children both the beginners and those skilled in art.
The lessons are designed to stimulate creative abilities, to learn handling art materials and developing interest in culture of the past and the present. The practical classes educate children on the theory of colour, lines, composition and plastic arts. The teachers aim to develop children’s attentiveness and expression of attitude through art.
The studio is located in a number of large rooms, fairly equipped with furniture, drawing easels, models of ancient casts and props. The availability of computers and interactive whiteboards allows educators to use training programs and video materials.
There is a well-stocked library that greatly helps the process of education. The classes are held both in the museum and outside – en plain-air. The students frequent at the biological centre, where they draw animals and birds, trying to portray their movements, habits and characteristics.
The students actively participate in cultural events, attend exhibitions and meet artists. At the end of the year the museum holds reporting exhibitions, which is a great way to develop children’s creativity. It also positively affects the education process.
