Petrovichev Piotr is a Russian and Soviet landscape painter.
He studied under Valentin Serov and Isaak Levitan at the Moscow College of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture. He was also a member of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions (Peredvizhniki) and an active member of the biggest art association of the beginning of the 20th century, The Union of Russian Artists. A deep interest in native nature and quaint features of Russian folk’s life is characteristic of this society.
The painting The Ipatiev Monastery in Kostroma represented at the museum permanent exhibition became one of his most famous works.
