Exhibition of works by the Tatar Cultural Center at the
Regional Museum of Fine Arts named after the Nevzorov’s Family
The XXV International competition-festival of Tatar Art Kozge Irtysh Monnari, initiated by the president of the Public Foundation Center for Tatar Culture Altyn Torki Bishige Gabdulhak Akhunzhanov Gabdullovich, is currently taking place in Semey. This is a jubilee festival, which includes many interesting cultural events, one of which is an exhibition of fine and decorative arts at the Regional Museum of Fine Arts named after the Nevzorov’s Family. This large-scale event features participants from various regions of Kazakhstan and Russia.
Applied art is the soul of the people, it is a song composed in labor, it is everyday life that has become beauty. At the exhibition in the museum, items of daily life adorned with embroidery or made using felting techniques, textile dolls, painted dishes, as well as children’s drawings, are displayed in showcases and on the walls. The students from the Tatar Art School, along with guests from Shulbinsk, Novobazhenovo, and even Tomsk, presented their colorful drawings on various themes. The range of techniques showcased includes embroidery with bugle beads and sequins, artistic applique, and wood burning. It’s impossible to describe the full diversity of the works presented in just one article! The age range of participants is also diverse. Therefore, to ensure a fair assessment, the jury was offered various nominations.
Winners of the competition will be determined separately in the nominations for painting and applied arts, in categories for ages 7 to 17 and from 17 and older. The jury includes representatives of the artistic community from not just our city. They include Mullashev Kamil Valiakhmedovich – a painter, Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, member of the Union of Artists of Kazakhstan, and People’s Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rauza Rifkatovna Sultanova – Doctor of Arts, Head of the Center for Art Studies at the G. Ibrahimov Institute of Language, Literature, and Arts of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, Honored Artist of the RT (Kazan, Tatarstan), as well as representatives from the museum – specialists from the educational and marketing department Galiya Jumazhanovna Sarsembina and Natalia Alexandrovna Belyakina.
Unfortunately, due to various circumstances, the exhibition will not stay in the museum for long. Some works will leave the museum immediately after the festival ends. The competition results will be announced on October 26. So, dear admirers of Tatar culture, lovers of painting and applied arts, don’t miss the chance to visit the exhibition! There is very little time left!
