Gorbatov Konstantin is a Russian landscape painter.
He was born in the town of Stavropol, Samara Governorate. His first artistic skills were with the Samara painter F. Burov, then, in 1895 he studied at the Alexander von Stieglitz Central School of Technical Drawing, later at the Polytechnic Institute. In 1896-1903 he attended lessons of D. Clark. From 1903 to 1911 Gorbatov studied at the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts in Sankt-Petersburg.
He was called a singer of Russian antiquity. Nature and life on the canvases of Konstantin Gorbatov are always beautiful, there is no critical view, only positive sounding, which is also felt in the painting A View of an Old Russian Town from the museum collection.
