Museum under quarantine. Life goes on.

We all are going through a very tough period of life now. The Covid-19 pandemic has made everyone change their habits. It has imprisoned some of us in our flats and made others work long hours and risk their lives every day. Our lives have become both similar and different now, but we all need some peace, we want to be on a safe side, we want to have a rest, to forget the chilling daily statistics, the oppressive walls that confine us and the danger lurking in every corner.
A quote recently attributed to Albert Einstein says: “Art is standing with one hand extended into the universe and one hand extended into the world, and letting ourselves be a conduit for passing energy”. One can develop this idea and say that being a conduit of this eternal energy keeps artists alive and helps them save the world. We all need art to survive and the museum is the best place where we can find such a rich source of regeneration.
The wooden doors are closed to the public, but that doesn’t mean that the museum has closed entirely. The building is under quarantine, but the museum keeps working. It is open on Internet. You can still visit the museum on the social networks and on the official museum site. The most precious artworks are available with only a single click. You can take a virtual tour or simply admire your favourite artworks. The museum staff continues their work in remote mode. Museum visitors have numerous opportunities to attend lectures and workshops, watch short videos and read information about the collection.
But all things must pass. The pandemic will pass too. We just need to be patient.
